Yesterday I tried out a Heyrobics class over in Chaoyang Park. A new Swedish exercise craze, it’s basically an aerobics class + full-body interval training that includes squats, push ups, sprints, core etc. The upbeat pop music, high-energy instructors, and group format was quite a lot of fun. The crowd of onlookers in the park was an added bonus, you always work harder when there’s an audience! The movements are simple and easy to follow so appropriate for beginners, but if you follow the pace of the instructor and go all out it is a challenging workout. Most of the classes are free or 20rmb to cover venue costs, what’s not to love?
